Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Rural Road

The Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Rural Road project, implemented under Project Reference No. 02/KBL/032/KAP/N.21/ROA (2NGOS), was carried out in Kapisa Province with the support of UNHCR. The project was designed as an infrastructure and community development intervention aimed at improving rural accessibility and supporting the mobility and livelihoods of local communities. Under the project, approximately 8 km of rural road was reconstructed and rehabilitated, directly benefiting around 680 households. The intervention aimed to improve access between rural communities and essential services, facilitate the movement of people and goods, and provide more reliable transportation conditions for the targeted population. Project activities focused on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the existing rural road, improvement of damaged and deteriorated sections, and restoration of road functionality to provide safer and more dependable access for surrounding communities. The improved road infrastructure contributed to better connectivity and supported community access to markets, services, and other economic and social opportunities. The project was implemented from 1 November 2002 to 31 December 2002, with a reported project value of 27,811. Through the rehabilitation of essential rural infrastructure, the intervention contributed to improving local mobility, strengthening community connectivity, and supporting the daily activities of beneficiary households. Overall, the project represented an important infrastructure and community development initiative. Through the reconstruction and rehabilitation of 8 km of rural road in Kapisa Province, the project improved accessibility for approximately 680 households and contributed to the recovery and development of the targeted communities under UNHCR Project Reference No. 02/KBL/032/KAP/N.21/ROA (2NGOS).
